According to Raul Gallegos (Chicago Tribune, PERSPECTIVE, May 28, 2014). we may not be now -- but we "better get used to living in a bilingual America." The author quotes Jose Mujica, Uruguayan President, who, during his first visit with President Barack Obama, advised: "You will have to become a bilingual country yes, or yes" Of course, English is our official language, but we could gain by also speaking Spanish. Gallegos sites Census Bureau estimates that the number of Spanish speakers in the U.S. will grow to between 39 - 43 million by 2020. Are you bilingual in English and Spanish? Please respond in the comment section. (If you can't get through, email janow@aol.com).
